A prayer for the woman trying to discern the voice of God

Heavenly Father,

With my whole being, with my heart, mind and soul I come seeking to live my life directed by you alone. I’ve heard you clearly call and I’ve given my life to you. I’ve known your voice so clear.

But today that voice is dim and subtle.

It feels like a vapor I cannot quite grasp.

Come near. Come clear.

Make your voice rise above the noise of the world. Rise above my muddled heart and mind. Direct me in ways no other can; in those personal ways others can’t quite understand. Speak in a bold whisper so clear it cannot be mistaken it’s you I hear. 

“Speak, for your servant is listening.” Your voice all I long to hear. I’ve heard you before. Speak again. 

I lay down this request and humbly return to my day. Prick my ears throughout as you direct my ways.
